Officeworks will have a contract with a printer company (who sold them the printer, probably) and they give them toner (ink), maintenance and everything else for 'free' as part of that contract I currently have a ts9160 which does discs well. I made some changes to the file print dimensions to compensate for this difference and later had another print done (by officeworks.) with the second printing, there was a difference of 5mm on the long side of the artwork
So both printing sessions resulted in the wrong size for the artwork Saying that canon appear to still have a printer that will do discs And they were both a different size to each other.
I tend to do any printing at officeworks because it's cheap ($.08 / page) and convenient
I have for years copied he files as a pdf onto a usb stick, plugged it into the officeworks printer, selected the files and it prints. If you want cmy or duotone or something special, you'll need to go to a specialised photo print shop that advertise such a service and discuss with them your needs An officeworks print dept is a sausage factory. Complete with arrows pointing to finished artwork siz will definitely take that approach I can see that good communication is key
Perhaps don't have any outer borders i don't know how i would avoid having.
Officeworks aren't trusting these specialty prints to the work esperience kid in the store, but sending them to someone who knows what they are doing That still doesn't mean it will turn out how you expected A technically excellent print can still be disappointing I'd try a smaller one before going large.
I work at an officeworks store in melbourne and get all my photo printing done there I'm pretty happy with the results that come from my d7000 when blown up I don't have the money to simply be spending $100 on a single print. We don’t print a lot either therefore i too contemplated getting a mono printer thinking i can go to the officeworks for the odd colour print, but i am glad i paid the extra and got a colour, because there have been many instances where converting colour documents to greyscale hasn’t worked and printing colour was the only option to get a.
A unit that still offers cd/dvd print perhaps use thermal print discs and upgrade to a laser printer (just joking)
Seriously, printers that do this seem to be pretty thin on the ground these days, and will only get rarer
