Experimented this summer with both hp and pp after reading through all the posts on here and been fairly successful in getting rid of my string algae problems as well as excess snails that i had in my 22,000 gallon pond It's a mess (see pic) I'm interested in trying to seeing if i can now prevent string algae with either one or a combo of the two
Anyone done this and what ppm dose and how often dosed to be. It's 18 down in a trench lined with gravel I wonder if you know how effective the oase screenmatic filters are at removing debris compared the rotating drum filters
Of course the drum filter must be better, but how far behind are the screenmatic
Koi with long lasting beauty has soft and elastic beni, and its beauty will stay intact for ten to fifteen years A good koi, according to professionals, is the one that will keep its quality and beauty for a long time Kois that compete in the 75cm group must. Generally speaking, all aquatic life living in closed systems will need some sort of fresh, clean water changed at regular intervals
Those intervals will depend on tank size, stocking levels, water parameters, etc If you can afford to do so, more water changes will always be better than less I'm lazy and spend a lot of time away from home so i like to automate this as much as possible And these aren't the best pics either
Wish you could see the beni in person
Very thick, rich and lustrous I'm hoping it turns out to look more like a shiro utsuri with beni accents, but who knows? I'm installing a large bulkhead fitting on another large plastic tank to be used in an another indoor system This circular tank has a nice feature of some squared edges on the outside for a bulkhead fitting that will be used for a side drain
I did some searching on the internet and it appears there is a little disagreement on this on which washer (gasket) goes where For serious critique please judge this showa Hi guys, been around the forum reading for a few months and figure it's time to post my pond and situation for suggestions and thoughts We moved into a home this january that had a large concrete koi pond already constructed.(actually one of the main reasons we loved the property!)
Built by a guy who pays attention to structural and design details pretty well, for when he built it, i.
I'm interested in knowing what everyone has done.if anything.for a bottom drain clean out line I'm laying it 2 3 bottom drains and was thinking i should put a cleanout on each line that i can run a snake down I will have fir cones dropping into the pond.and i learned they can get sucked into a bottom drain and clog My thoughts are a standpipe prior to the knive valves on each line
So, earlier this year i put in a draco drum rdf I asked for advice about moving to an rdf and several folks told me to be sure to set up a waste line So i very carefully installed a sump and a waste line The line goes out to the yard, where it goes through about 7' of 1 1/2 flex into 4 drain line
