Japanese is the national language of japan and its people I was wondering if it is related to the english xoxo (hugs and kisses) or is this just a coincidence? According to ethnologue, japanese is the 9th largest language in the world by number of speakers with 122 million speakers in 25 countries.
Welcome to r/learnjapanese, *the* hub on reddit for learners of the japanese language. So i stumbled over the japanese word メロメロ (mero mero) wich is often translated as being in love I put together what i believe is a comprehensive list of all of the free online resources to learn japanese, including video, audio, apps, courses, dictionaries, websites, textbooks

However, even if you use ×, not everyone will readily understand its meaning, so it would be best to use either × or †, and clearly specify its meaning in a legend. Boyfriend and that 彼女かのじょ is she
I've checked jisho, and indeed the definitions are correct, but the example sentences it provides haven't helped at all to see the differences between these words Can they be used interchangeably or are there. ほど and くらい can indeed be interchangeable, though your mileage will vary depending on the particular phrase The difference is between measuring up to and about equal to, which is as subtle a nuance in japanese as it is in english.
