What should i need to do next? Its coming from the male threads that go into the water heater itself, not on the discharge side If the valve leaks, lift the lever to test it

I purchased a water heater from lowes a few days ago (apparently it was a non name brand 40 gallon)

The water heater did not come with nipples so i purchased some from home depot and went at it with good ernst I installed the nipples with teflon tape (3 wraps) All the water is on the floor not the top of the pad, i don’t see any indication of water leaking from the heater and running down the side of the pad to the floor I do not feel any water at the top of the bottom black collar or where the heater overhangs the front of the pad.
